JULY IS THE MONTH OF THE MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD

Sixteenth Week of ordinary time

‘SEA SUNDAY’ Seafarers and fishers play a vital role in all of our lives, but they often work in difficult, hazardous conditions.

The number of crews abandoned by their employers is still at a record high. Conflicts around the world are compromising their safety, and many are experiencing stress and poorer mental health.

Stella Maris (formally known as Apostleship of the Sea) is the maritime agency of the Catholic Church. Its teams of chaplains provide practical help and pastoral care to seafarers and fishers in the UK and around the world.

‘Sea Sunday’ which is being held at St Thomas More this Sunday, 21st July, is when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. Your support will make a big difference to seafarers and fishers in need. You can donate in church, by visiting www.stellamaris.org.uk/donate or by texting ‘SEA’ to 70460 to donate £5.00. You can also donate by contactless or by cash in the second collection basket. This collection is vital to enable Stella Maris to continue its important work, so please give generously. Thank you.

TRADITIONES CUSTODES three years on: the cause of division not unity. Pick up the excellent summary of the situation from the National Catholic Register by Larry Chapp on the damaging effect of this motu proprio. Also if you have not read it, pick up the letter by several leading British public figures to the Pope regarding the Traditional Latin Mass and published in The Times.
