CLERGY SUPPORT FUND
At all masses next Sunday there will be a second collection for the Clergy Support Fund and this Sunday our KNIGHTS OF ST COLUMBA will be appealing for your support. This important Diocesan fund ensures a dignified retirement for your priests after they have dedicated their lives in service to Our Lord Jesus Christ, his Church and his people.
The Clergy Support Fund of the Archdiocese of Southwark provides care for priests in their old age and retirement, and in their time of ill health. A gift to this worthy fund will ensure a dignified retirement for our priests.
In 2021, the Clergy Support Fund provided care to 71 retired priests, a cost of £1.25 million. With the number of priests over the age of 65 steadily increasing, so too will the financial obligation to the Archdiocese.
Please be generous in the second collection next week. You can:
1. Pick up an envelope in church this Sunday or write your own envelope and return it next Sunday.

FORMING A FOUNDATION OF THE UNION OF CATHOLIC MOTHERS:
We thank the Diocesan Committee of the UCM for coming to the parish on Saturday 19th February. The first meeting was held in the house, starting with coffee and tea. Parishioners were appointed President, secretary, treasurer and welfare officer. The next meeting will be on Saturday 19th March at 5.00 p.m. in the house.
Please come along if you are interested in finding out more and would enjoy the friendship, companionship and support of other women in your parish in a long established and excellent Catholic society.

Deaths

Mrs. Patricia Cassidy who died on Sunday 16th January. Her funeral was on Monday 7th January followed by committal at Hillview.
Paul Joseph Desmond McGilligan who died in Australia on 17th December 2021. There will be a Sung Requiem followed by the Burial of Ashes at Hillview on Monday 7th March at 10.00 a.m.
May the divine assistance remain with her always, and may her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.

FEBRUARY PRAYER IN HONOUR OF THE HOLY FAMILY.
Acceptance of Death:
O Lord, my God, from this moment on I accept with a good will, as something coming from your hand, whatever kind of death you want to send me, with all its anguish, pain and sorrow.
Through our faith, we not only accept death when it comes but we can also pray for a happy death. Every time we say the Hail Mary we ask our Blessed Lady to be with us when this time comes. Another invocation to be said any time, any place, alone or with others and most especially with the dying is the ‘Jesus, Mary and Joseph’.
