Prayer of Thanksgiving for the Gift of Consecration
Prayer to Jesus
Jesus, I thank you because you inspired me to consecrate myself to your mother. She will help me in all my needs from now on: she will lift me out of my deepest misery, and she will help me to enter into a more intimate communion with you. Without her I feel that I am drowning in my own selfishness. Yes, I need Mary in my spiritual life! With her I will liberate myself from sin and from its consequences. I will deepen my relationship with you in prayer, I will contemplate your mysteries and I will fully adhere to your Gospel. With her not only will I be safe, but I will radiate your love in the world. I will live in harmony with your will and I will strive to reveal you in a most authentic way to my brethren.
I would like to proclaim how good you were with me to all creatures, thus allowing me to come to know your Mother and consecrate myself to her. I will never be able to thank you enough for this gift as I should! I would be ungrateful if I failed to give her the gift of my life. Like John at the foot of the cross, I welcome Mary as a gift from you and I am renewing my consecration with that maturity and sense of duty that you, Jesus, expect from me. Help me to eliminate from my life all that I cannot offer to your Mother: that which cannot be presented to her is not worthy of you. Amen.

JAMES MCGOVERN RIP.
A Requiem Mass for Mr James J McGovern will be held on Tuesday 19 August at 11.30 at Our Lady Help of Christians, 5 Cresswell Park, SE3 9RD, celebrated by Msgr. Nicholas Rothon. Mr McGovern, was a parishioner at St Thomas More’s in his early years.

PARISH FAMILY FUN DAY – 14TH SEPTEMBER 2025.
Please save the date.
There will be a BBQ, games, bouncy castle, ice cream truck, stalls and much more for all the family to enjoy. At the end of the day, the parish social club will be open in the hall who will be having a family pub quiz. All are welcome. If you would like to have a stall or can donate cakes and refreshments please email bostallpark@rcaos.org.uk. Donations for raffle prizes, bottles and more can be brought to the house and left with Melissa or the parish priest. If you are able to volunteer in any way, please contact the parish office. DAY FOR READERS & EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST.
The next day retreat for parish Readers & Eucharistic Ministers is on Saturday 18th October at St. Stephen’s Church, Welling. Please can you inform the parish office if you are able to attend as soon as possible. Please bring a packed lunch.
PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO ST. JUDE’S SHRINE, FAVERSHAM 25TH OCTOBER 2025.
The parish is organising a parish pilgrimage to St. Jude’s Shrine in Faversham, Kent on Saturday 25th October. There will be a coach taking pilgrims from the Church which costs £10 per adult & £5 per child under 14 years old. Please speak to the parish priest if you have any questions or can help to sponsor any pilgrims who are unable to finance their pilgrimage
