Saturday 13th – Saturday 20th July 2024

JULY IS THE MONTH OF THE MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD

Fifteenth Week of ordinary time

DIACONAL DAY This Sunday, 14th July, we are celebrating our first Archdiocesan Diaconal Day, during which we pray for the Permanent Deacons serving in our Archdiocese as well as we pray for the new vocations to this ministry. If you are a man between 21 years to 58 years, prayerful, with the desire to love God and God's people, you are involved in services within your parish and community, you have tried many things and still feel drawn to a closer relationship with Christ and His Church you might possibly be called to be a Permanent Deacon? If you require further information about the Permanent Diaconate, please speak to your Parish Priest, or contact the Diaconate Formation Director via e-mail:ianblack@rcaos.org.uk.

NIGERIAN PARISHIONERS: please pick up a pastoral letter addressed to you from His Grace, Archbishop John, who has recently been visiting Nigeria for ordinations.

TRADITIONES CUSTODES three years on: the cause of division not unity. Pick up the excellent summary of the situation from the National Catholic Register by Larry Chapp on the damaging effect of this motu proprio. Also if you have not read it, pick up the letter by several leading British public figures to the Pope regarding the Traditional Latin Mass and published in The Times.

‘SEA SUNDAY’ Seafarers and fishers play a vital role in all of our lives, but they often work in difficult, hazardous conditions. ‘Sea Sunday’ which is being held at St Thomas More on Sunday 21st July, is when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. Your support will make a big difference to seafarers and fishers in need. You can donate in church, by visiting www.stellamaris.org.uk/donate or by texting ‘SEA’ to 70460 to donate £5.00. You can also donate next week by contactless or by cash in the second collection basket. This collection is vital to enable Stella Maris to continue its important work, so please give generously. Thank you.

We commend this excellent residential trip for altar servers and those who regularly attend mass on the weekend. In an event that has now gone on for more than 20 years, it is a few days for deepening one’s catholic faith, in a great social atmosphere, including football, sports and visit to Thorpe Park. For more details of how to get to the venue, with a coach laid on at St. Anselm’s Dartford, see your parish priest for a form, or contact Fr. Stephen Boyle, chaplain to the Guild of St, Stephen, Dartford@rcaos.org.uk, Tel:01322 220075. We would encourage subsidy for such a trip for attendees. Here we charge the £100 for the trip, and the parish subsidizes the rest.
